Welcome to the Clan MacLeod USA Great Lakes Region web site. We have created this site to improve communications between members and prospective members of Clan MacLeod as well as their various septs families. The Great Lakes Region includes the four states of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio. The site is part of the Clan MacLeod web system (ACMS, USA and other regional sites). We do not try to duplicate information that exists in the other Clan MacLeod web sites, but use hyperlinks back to the original information.

The Clan MacLeod USA was founded in 1954, at the meeting of the organizing committee in Chicago Illinois. The purpose of the organization was to establish a foundation for charitable, historical and educational pursuits for the Clan MacLeod. The objectives of that meeting continue to this day. They are to strengthen fellowship among MacLeods and clansfolk. We also want to encourage the study of the Clan MacLeod  history, pursue Celtic Arts which includes music, piping and dancing while preserving  places of interest of the Clan MacLeod.

The content of this site supports our goal of improved communications with the following pages:

• Upcoming Events List of events by state, which would include  highland games, Burn’s dinners, picnics, ceilidhs, banquets, get-togethers and meetings.

• Officers List of regional officers, both commissioners and coordinators by state. The page includes e-mail, address and telephone numbers, with currently accurate information.

• Newsletter An electronic version of the latest regional Vice President newsletter as well as back copies. These newsletters contains information about the activities of Clan MacLeod Society in the Great Lakes Region.
   
• Sept page Just because your name isn't MacLeod doesn't mean that your family isn't part of the Clan. Look at the sept page for your Surname.
