Clan MacLeod 2002 Parliament Pictures
As an initial attendee of Parliament, we had many impressions and took many
pictures trying to capture the various events of this exciting week in Dunvegan
village.
The pictures cannot do justice to the week's activities but we wanted to show
(via the internet) many clanspeople who either did not go or never attended this
global meeting some visual feeling of Dunvegan village during Parliament week. The
pictures in no way tell the whole story but can give interested clanspeople a
glimpse of the event.
The pictures are segmented into nine areas.....Opening Night, Trip to Raasay,
BBQ Night, Borroraig, USA Clan members, Ceilidh, Parliament, and Scenery.
In our opinion, the best activity was the trip to the Borroraig Cairn, the
hallowed site where MacCrimmons founded and built their famous college to
develop music and pipers for not only MacLeods but other clans in the Highlands
from 1500 to 1800. The scenery at Borroraig, the weather, and the piping by Euan
MacCrimmon combined to make the afternoon unforgettable and alone, made the trip
to Parliament worthwhile. Euan's selected initial Piobaireachd tune was MacLeod's
Salute!
Many thanks to William Giles MacLeod, our Clan MacLeod USA Great Lakes region
web
master for his time and effort to make this Photo Section a reality on our
website. Bill is working to build our USA Clan website where these pictures and
others will be a fixture on the site. If anyone has any comments or
suggestions, you can contact Bill G. at WMac1076@aol.com.
